Match Day!!!
Today was match day!!! We have waited 4 long years for this and it's hard to believe it has really come. We started the residency application process last summer and it's been a long process that's finally over. Well we ended up matching today into Orthopedic Surgery at St. Luke's in Bethlehem, PA. It was our 1st choice so we couldn't be more pleased. It's a brand new program and John-David and the other guy that matched there will be the first residents for this program. We actually ended up applying to the program kind of on a whim last minute because his brother ended up taking a job in Philadelphia which is near there. The family connection definitely helped the decision to choose there. We are sad to leave Columbus because we have truly loved it here but we are excited to see what the next place will bring. Our camera has some major issues so sorry about the poor quality of pictures.

How exciting! But sad too, I'm sure. I'm so glad you get to have these great experiences. And to get your first choice - yay!
YIPEEEE! That is so exciting. I am so happy it is his 1st choice and that you will have family close. I know you have made such good friends in Columbus, but you guys will make even more in your new home. What about the details? When do you move?
Congratulations! That is awesome to get your first choice. I am so happy for you guys. It will be crazy being the first residents. John David will be chief from the beginning - sort of. Residency is hard, but very doable and I think Pennsylvania is a beautiful state with lots of history. I am excited for you guys.
YAH!! "A doctor, a doctor, I can't believe you're married to a doctor.." That's so exciting! Jeff is always in PA- so I'm jeleaous that I'm not there..LOL. GOOD LUCK!! CONGRATULATIONS!
Congrats, I talked with Melissa the other day and she said you got your first choice. Shane & Kim enjoyed PA while they were there.

Congrats! That's so exciting! I love that John-David is wearing his BYU shirt in the pics too ;). We're gonna miss you guys, but we're happy for you. And how nice that you'll be closer to family. We're happy for you.
Awesome! I am so happy for you guys! If anyone can go into a brand new program and be great at it it's John David. Congrats!
Woohooo!!! Welcome to the east coast! I just google mapped you and you will be 76.9 miles away from me, and it will only take me 1 hour and 21 minutes to come to your house. We will have to do lots of fun things like go to the beach and Six Flags. I am SO excited!!
We are so happy for you guys! To get your first choice is fantastic. And you won't be too far away, hopefully we can see you a time or two. Congratulations again!
